Gad, it changes from week to week. There's all kinds of hype about pay versus free, bloated versus lean, constant updates versus rarer ones, and so on. My advice is to try one of the free ones such as AVAST!, AVG Free, Antiver, or the like. Download and install one, keep it updated, and run it with a thorough check about once a week. That'll do you fine. Of course, follow common sense rules too, such as not opening suspicious attachments or downloads, etc. Good luck.
