What is Port forwarding ?

Port forwarding sends an outgoing data packet traversing a NAT gateway through a network port, typically the same one that the packet was received from. The ports used are predetermined and is typically used for a connection between your gateway and the host. To allow such you will have to enable port forwarding. Disable it if you do not need it but you will if you play online games on a gaming system.

You should be able to enable/disable port forwarding on specific ports in your network preferences. To access network open your browser and type in your gateway address into your address bar.
